Two flights scheduled for tomorrow have also been cancelled.
Aer Lingus has cancelled eight flights between Ireland and airports in London today due to the density of fog in the UK capital.
According to reports, flights into Heathrow and Gatwick were subject to significant delays due to the adverse weather conditions and some services were cancelled.

A spokesperson for the airline has stated that any passengers who have been affected will be accommodated on other services tomorrow.
Passengers have been notified about the disruption to services and those travelling to London tomorrow are being advised that they may experience delays.

Those intending to travel are also advised to watch out for new updates from the airline on social media.
Meanwhile, with fog also forecast for Ireland as the night continues, two more flights have been cancelled into Heathrow tomorrow morning (EI154 and EI155) due to the conditions.
