Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for two counties – Cork and Kerry.
The warning is in place from 9am on Friday, 14th to 9am on Saturday, 15th October due to heavy rain over south Munster. It’s forecast to continue throughout the night before clearing on Saturday morning but 25 to 40 mm of rain are expected, with the highest values over Kerry and west Cork.
According to Met Eireann, the rest of the country won’t escape the rain either. There will be scattered heavy rain or hail showers mainly in southern, eastern and northeastern areas as well as isolated thunderstorms on parts of the east coast. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.
The rain will continue through the night, turning persistent and heavy in places, but clearing from southwestern counties in the early hours.
Saturday will begin wet in many areas, with heavy showers. Brighter weather with sunny spells and scattered showers in the southwest, will gradually spread northeastwards during the day.
Mixed conditions expected for Sunday with dry sunny spells and some showers too.
Very unsettled for the rest of the weekend and into Monday but a drier weather should return later in the week.
