A weather warning has been issued for parts of the country tonight

Met Éireann has issued a weather warning for some areas tonight with temperatures dropping to minus 4 degrees.

A warning is in place for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal from now until 10am on Thursday, November 24th. Temperatures are expected to fall between minus 2 and minus 4 degrees in those areas. Met Éireann has said, "It will be very cold in the north and northwest with lowest temperatures falling to between -4 and -1 degree with widespread severe frost but elsewhere lowest temperatures will fall to around -1 to +3 degrees with some frost." Tomorrow will also be cold but will remain dry with sunny spells. They've added, "It will be very cold, especially in the north and northwest with top temperatures reaching just 3 to 6 degrees but elsewhere top temperatures will be around 6 to 10 degrees." The outlook for the weekend is as follows:

"The days will bring a mix of cloud and sunshine. Nights will be frosty especially in the Midlands and North where dense fog is also likely to cause problems and may linger in places through the days. Daytime temperatures will stay very low where the fog sticks at around 3 or 4 degrees and getting up to around 7 or 8 Celsius at best further South."
