A pedestrian has died in Dublin City after being struck by a car

Sad news this morning.

A man has died after being struck by a car in Dublin City.

According to RTÉ, the 47-year-old male pedestrian was hit by a car on the Shelbourne Road in Dublin 4 shortly after midnight.

Emergency services were called to the scene and he was later pronounced dead. The driver is said to be unharmed following the incident.

The Shelbourne Road has been closed between the junctions of Bath Avenue and Lansdowne Road to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
