A young man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his mother in Bray, Co Wicklow.
Twenty-one-year-old Bijan Afshar appeared before Bray District Court this evening charged with the murder of Lynn Cassidy.
According to RTÉ News, the court ordered a psychiatric report to be carried out and that Mr Afshar be given any necessary medical treatment. He was remanded to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday July 4th.
The body of Ms Cassidy (50) was found at a house in Deepdales estate by two of her sons, aged 13 and 16, in the early hours of Friday morning. Gardaí have confirmed that she died in violent circumstances.
