26 women have reported they were sexually assaulted after attending a concert in Germany at the weekend.

The attacks, which mirror the assaults that took place in Cologne on New Year’s Eve, reportedly took place at the Schlossgrabenfest music festival in the city of Darmstadt on Saturday night.

A statement released by police to national German newspaper Die Welt is believed to have read:

“Unfortunately, several women were sexually harassed on Saturday, when the dance floor area was completely packed”.

According to The New York Times, Ferdinand Derigs, a spokesman for Darmstadt police said:

“These people then approached the women, danced around them and touched them in an inappropriate way”.

Three females at the concert alerted police to say they were improperly touched and since then, more women have come forward to report the same thing happened to them.

According to numerous reports, police arrested three men, two of whom are thought to be from Pakistan, who are currently seeking asylum in Germany.

It is thought that they could be deported if found guilty when brought before a court.
