Westlife share teaser of new music coming soon

This is not a drill.

Westlife have released a teaser for a track off their highly anticipated comeback album, and fans are not OK.

Sharing a short clip to their official Instagram, the band wrote: “Could it be, could it be the start of something…?”

The video shows a beautiful cloudy sky and features several bars of the new song, and it sounds SO good.

In the comments, fans shared their joy and anticipation.

One wrote: “OMG! YASSSSS! CAN’T WAIT!!!”

Another said: “omg yes ! Already love it !”

A third commented: “the boys are coming back.”

Indeed they are.

Earlier this summer, Westlife delighted fans by announcing that new music was finally on the way.

All four current members of the band – Shane Filan, Markus Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne – will feature on the album. As it stands, there’s no indication that Brian McFadden will be making a long-awaited return.

On top of that, we can expect a fresh new sound from the lads, given the fact that they parted ways with their long-term music label EMI in early 2021.

While we’re looking forward to seeing the direction Westlife will take, we’re also hopeful that they’ll keep that classic Westlife vibe that we know and love. And, if the couple of seconds of new music are anything to go by, we’re in for a treat.

Those looking to see Westlife performing live are also in luck, as the boyband are gearing up for their “biggest world tour”. The group will be playing Cork’s Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Friday 12 August and Saturday 13 August next year.

Tickets are on sale now, but if you’ve been in two minds about whether or not you’ll go, you may want to make your decision. Once the album drops, both nights are bound to sell out, so consider yourself warned.

As for other Irish dates, nothing’s been announced, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
