Sinead O’Connor has already waltzed down the aisle four times but clearly that wasn’t enough because she’s getting hitched again in her new music video.
The singer heads to the chapel in her latest music video, which was filmed to promote her new single 4th and Vine. This is the first music video that Sinead has released in over a decade.
Despite the fact that Sinead’s other attempts at marriage didn’t work out in the way that she had hoped, Sinead was more than happy to stick on a veil in the video.
The Nothing Compares 2 U singer was previously married to John Reynolds and later got hitched to journalist Nick Somerlad. Sinead then tied the knot with Steve Cooney, although they split after less than a year together.
Sinead famously found her fourth husband, Barry Herridge, after advertising for a man online, but they split two weeks after their Vegas wedding in 2011.
“When I heard the song it made me think about the lovely traditions associated with weddings in Ireland. There are a huge amounts of rituals, like the groom coming out of the church and throwing coins at the local children,” said Kathryn Ferguson, the filmmaker behind the video.
“If you were generous with your money it would bring good luck,” she added.
According to Kathryn, Sinead came up with the idea of a wedding and a church for the video.
“She looked beautiful in it and the reaction has been incredibly positive so far. I think everyone is just delighted to see her looking and sounding so well,” said Kathryn.
