We’ll admit that we reacted by saying ‘Who?’ when Ricky Wilson was announced a judge on BBC’s The Voice UK but the Kaiser Chiefs frontman has won us all over during his first season in the spinning red chair.
Wilson’s supportive nature on the reality show proved the perfect foil to Kylie and Tom’s cheeky banter and will.i.am’s general randomness so we were shocked to hear today that the Ruby singer has not been approached to return to the series. With Kylie confirming her exit and will.i.am also threatening to jump ship, we would have thought that the bosses of the beleagured show would have been pulling out all the stops to keep Wilson on board but he told The Sun that he is not feeling confident about a new deal.
“I haven’t been asked yet, for a start. People keep telling me rumours of who might join the panel, and I’m not sure there’d be a space for me. It would definitely depend on the coaches,” he said.
“It would be weird doing it without Kylie. She helped get me over the edge.”
