The death of G.R.L.’s Simone Battle shocked the music world and for her fellow bandmates have paid a touching tribute to the star in their lastest video.

G.R.L. were on the cusp of international stardom when the 25-year-old took her own life in September. Remaining bandmates Lauren Bennett, Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen made the extremely difficult decision in the wake of the singer’s death to carry on as a quartet.

‘Lighthouse’ is the first release from the band and the poignant lyrics are accompanied in this brand new video by a montage of images of Battle taken throughout her career.

Speaking for the first since her death, the group opened up about the life changing call they received.

“We woke up in the morning like any other day, expecting to go to rehearsals with Simone like we did the day before,” Lauren said.

“We had to learn our choreography for a show we had coming up. Then we got a phone call,” she continued.

“For me, that was the most shocking call I’ve ever had in my life.”

“I had never been through anything like this before. It’s only now, months later, that we’ve started to pick up the pieces of our lives”, Emmalyn added.
