Looks like Eddie Murphy is rekindling his love for music and relaunching his music career. It’s been 20 years since he made his last album.

The musician-turned-actor-turned-musician released a new song called Red Light into the public domain this week. The song has a Bob Marley feel to it and features fellow musician Snoop Lion.

According to Rolling Stone, Murphy is now “semi-retired” from the acting gig.

“All I’ve been doing is making music,” he said.

“I haven’t been working on films, haven’t been developing movies, or any of that shit.”

According to The Guardian, Murphy recorded his new songs at home – writing and producing everything himself.

“I got shit that sounds like country tracks, shit that sounds like heartland music, I got smooth ballads, I got a song that sounds like you’d play it at the strip club,” he said.

This new reggae tune is just one of the tracks off of Murphy’s upcoming album “9”.
