A lawyer for Dr. Luke has issued a statement contradicting claims that the producer has been fired in the wake of the uproar over his alleged abusive behaviour towards Kesha.
The lawyer made the statement to Rolling Stone as another report online had announced his dismissal.
“This is not true,” the lawyer tells Rolling Stone. “Luke has an excellent relationship with Sony. His representatives are in regular contact with executives at the highest levels at Sony and this has never come up.”
Sony has been targeted by a lot of online backlash and protests over its handling of the court proceedings surrounding the Kesha vs Dr. Luke case.
The original report from The Wrap published yesterday alleged he was to be dismissed because of this and apparent infighting within the label about the situation and negative press.
