A new year is the perfect time to change up your music taste and introduce some new flavours… from indie to pop to dance there’s something to suit everyone.
There’s noting quite like the buzz of a live gig and we have resolved to attend more this year… if stuck for a date option or a night out with friends you really can’t go wrong.
Here are a few of the acts Team Her have predicted big things for in 2013.
Sam Smith (Nirvana)
Disclosure fans will be familiar with Sam who featured on their breakthrough single Latch and he also lent his talents to NaughtyBoy’s La La La. However, 2014 is set to be his year. Sam is set to release Money On My Mind on Feburary 16. While we are loving this, Nirvana is definitely our favourite number so far…
Hudson Taylor
Brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson-Taylor grew up busking in Dublin which eventually led to a recording contract with Polydor records. The debut EP Battles reached No 1. on iTunes Ireland and No 14 on iTunes UK. They have played many Irish cities and towns, making a name for themselves as an upcoming duo. Our pick from these boys is Chasing Rubies.
Ella Eyre
Rudimental fans will recognise Ella for contributing her vocals to their track Waiting All Night and the talented lady has also featured on the Bastille mash up of TLC’s No Scrubs and The XX’S No Angels. She has also collaborated with Wiz Khalifa and Tinie Tempah and has plans to duet with Professor Greene. Ella has also been nominated as one of BBC Radio One’s Xtra Hot for 2014 artists.
Walking On Cars
Ireland has a pretty good track record when it comes to producing raw music talent and 2013 was a pretty good year for homegrown acts. We’re predicting big things for this Irish five piece from Dingle, Co. Kerry. Their hook-driven songs are brilliantly infectious and lead singer has Patrick Sheehy has a pretty gorgeous voice. It’s difficult not to get caught up in their live performances as one of Team Her can affirm having been to a gig over Christmas. Don’t Mind Me is one of our highlights…
