The Top 5 Most Memorable Brit Award Moments

Some of them are cheeky, others are brilliant and the rest are just plain awkward...

Rebecca McKnight

The Brit Awards celebrate the best of the music industry but as with all ceremonies there’s always the chance that something will go wrong or someone will do something crazy.

But sure those are always the most memorable moments aren’t they? Speaking of which, here are our favourite clips from years gone by…

Geri Halliwell’s dress (1997)

She was always the one to make a bit more noise than the rest but nobody could have predicted that Geri would step out onto the stage in THAT dress. Although nobody will ever forget it either.

Jarvis Cocker’s flash (1996)

The Pulp singer and his then bandmate Peter Mansell took to the stage as a protest against Michael Jackson during his performance of his hit Earth Song.

Liam Gallagher’s acceptance speech (2010)

It was a surreal moment when Liam accepted the award for the Best Album of 30 Years back in 2010. After thanking the rest of the band (excluding brother Noel) the Oasis star threw his microphone and award into the crowd. Nice.

Samantha Fox and Mick Fleetwood’s mess-up (1989)

No words can describe this Brit Award moment… actually no, one word does come to mind: painful. From the height difference between the presenters to their missed cues, you’ll be watching this one through your fingers.

Adele’s reaction (2012)

We fully understand the pop singer’s reaction to being cut off halfway through her acceptance speech. In fact, we applaud her for saying it like it is and reckon she should have been allowed to finish.
