We think we may have got ahead of ourselves with the excitement for the Girls Aloud reunion. Prepare yourself for disappointment as the Girls are not going ahead with their gig for St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland.
A statement released on the MCD website this morning has stated: “Unfortunately, due to unforeseen time restraints with the transportation of production equipment between the Irish & UK tour dates, the extra Girls Aloud concert added on Sunday 17th March 2013 at The O2 has been cancelled. Due to tour routing it has not been possible to reschedule this date.”
The other Irish dates for the band will still go ahead, including the 12th and 13th of March in The Odyssey in Belfast and the sold-out Irish performance on the 16th.
But it’s not all bad news for fans; ticket owners for the 17th can swap their ticket for another date or can get a full refund. Plus MCD have attempted to free up some tickets for the 16th: “By re-arranging production requirements, promoters have been able to free up a limited number of tickets to accommodate some fans wishing to attend the band’s sold out Dublin concert on 16th March 2013.”
MCD and Girls Aloud have apologised profusely to fans for the cancellation.
If you do want a ticket swap, you need to get in there soon! There are only a limited amount of tickets available…
Any excuse to listen to this track again though…
