Earlier today rumours were swirling about a certain Westlife star representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest next year.
But now it has emerged that Shane Filan will not be taking part in the somewhat cheesy singing competition.
There were rumours that Shane would take to the stage next year for Ireland.
The pop star took to his Twitter account to deny reports that he would be performing on behalf of the country.
He wrote: “Guys the rumours today about me representing Ireland Eurovision are Not true. Best of luck to whoever does.”
This was the tweet that confirmed that the singer wouldn’t be doing the contest.
We have to admit that while we are sad that we won’t see him on the global stage on behalf of Ireland, it might not have been the best move for his solo career now that we think about it!
