Promoters MCD have issued a warning to individuals attending this weekend’s Longitude Music Festival at Dublin’s Marlay Park.
Major delays getting to and from the venue are expected and organisers have warned that fans must plan and book return travel arrangements in advance.
Marathon return shuttle bus departures from Dublin city centre to the event are on sale and a limited number of bus tickets are available for sale on a first come first serve basis.
Folk attending the festival are advised to book ahead as traffic delays are deemed “inevitable”, and fans have been told to allow at least an additional two hours of travel time.
A weather warning is also in place. Punters have been told to expect rain, and are asked to bring rain gear as no umbrellas will be allowed on site.
MCD warn: Following consultation with An Garda Siochana and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council the following arrangements have been made.
Transport to and from the venue is a matter for individual ticket-holders, whether by means of car-pooling, cycling, walking, availing of Dublin Bus, the LUAS, by making an advance return booking on the Marathon Shuttle Bus, a private coach booking or by hiring a taxi.
Traffic delays are inevitable please allow plenty of additional travel time – we recommend at least an extra 2 hours.
