Little Mix Go Stateside… And Smash The Girl Power Record

Little Mix have just smashed a record set by the legendary Spice Girls in the USA.

They have become the first British girl group to enter the US charts within the Top 5 on the Billboard 200. The girls’ album DNA landed in at number four in its first week on the shelves, Digital Spy report.

The Spice Girls’ have held the record since 1997; their debut album Spice reached number six on the charts in its opening week. But now the girl power of the nineties has been beaten…

Little Mix aren’t doing too bad. They’ve already sold over 50,000 albums in the USA and DNA has reached the Top 5 in music charts in seven different countries globally.

Smash hit musical TV show Glee has already featured their debut single Wings and American Idol have also taken the opportunity to use the girls’ music.

And there could be more success on the way…

The band will perform on Good Morning America as part of their summer concert series.
