He may have been in the business since he was 15 but even still, the revelation that Justin Bieber is planning to retire will no doubt cause shockwaves among his fans.
The 19-year-old singer revealed during a recent radio interview with Los Angeles station Power 106 that he is hanging up the microphone after the release of his new album, Journals.
“After the new album, I’m actually retiring man. I’m retiring,” he told the host before backtracking somewhat. He explained: “I want to grow as an artist and I’m taking a step out, I want my music to mature.”
A source has since told TMZ that Justin, whose new record is set for release next week, was only joking. (Cue millions of Beliebers sighing with relief.)
Justin claimed that he was going to retire after his next album comes out.
