Swedish sisters, Klara and Johanna Soderberg, have received high praise for their particular brand of folk that is full of melancholic longing and a whimsical take on the world. The Sunday Telegraph described their album The Lion’s Roar as “brilliant” while the Evening Standard remarked that “there’s genuine beauty here.”
The siblings’ style is jingly jangly Americana folk, however it is the combination of this with the duo’s effortless Scandinavian poise and style that creates the intoxicating musical mix. The lyrics focus on lost love as the girl’s sweet, tender vocals illustrate this universal truth.
Following their sold-out show at The Workmans Club earlier this year, Swedish sisters First Aid Kit are coming back to Dublin to play Vicar Street on November 25th; tickets, €19, are available from Ticketmaster.ie.
