Amy Winehouse’s dad Mitch is, to put it mildly, unimpressed with Beyoncé’s cover of Back To Black.

According to reports he has agreed to it now but said that he wasn’t asked for permission to record the song.

Mitch Winehouse isn’t too pleased about Beyoncé’s version of Back to Black.

Speaking about Bey’s version, which will appear on the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, Mitch said: “I don’t think she brings anything to it.”

He added: “I wasn’t asked for my permission if they could record it. They have got to pay for the privilege, which is what they are doing. I can’t tell you how much it is but it’s a lot of money.”

Amy Winehouse fans have also questioned why the original wasn’t used for the film.

Speaking of money Mitch is hoping to bring out another album made up of his daughter’s earlier work to raise money for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the charity which was set up when the singer passed away in 2011.
