If you’re a music fan who’s looking for a great weekend at home this summer, step this way – we’ve got just the thing.
Groove is a brand new music festival on 6th & 7th July 2013. Set in the amazing Killruddery Estate situated between Bray and Greystones, right on the doorstep of Dublin city, Groove boasts an impressive line-up of musical legends and up-and-coming stars, across soul, funk, roots, R&B and rock & roll.
With the picturesque backdrop of the Wicklow Mountains plus Killruddery House with its stunning gardens, Groove offers the one of the most spectacular stages in the country.
Saturday visitors will enjoy the sounds of James Morrison, Ali Campbell’s UB40, Soul II Soul Sound System, Gavin James, The Original Rudeboys and Solar Taxi while on Sunday Imelda May, Jack Lukeman, Damien Dempsey, Jerry Fish, Lazy Habits and Propeller Palms will be doing their thing.
To spot the next big thing in Irish music, keep your eyes peeled at the Whelan’s Live stage, where you’ll get the chance to enjoy Hermitage Green, Hudson Taylor, Cry Monster Cry, Little Bear and O Emperor on Saturday, and the same stage on Sunday Ham Sandwich, The Raglans, The Notas, Big September, Swords and the Bray Gospel Choir will be providing the music.
And it’s not just the ears that are in for a treat. Your taste buds will be catered for too, as Master Chef John Coughlan Catering has been engaged to put on something special at Groove. From hog roast to sit down tapas bar, Asian to coffee and cakes, this will be a festival for the taste buds as much as the ears! You’ll also get the chance to check out the best County Wicklow has to offer in terms of food and crafts in the “Local Wicklow market” at Groove.
It’s a family festival too, with children more than welcome. In face, every adult can bring one child under 12 for free. With some great activities lined up, the Groove kids zone will be an exciting and safe place for kids. All children will have their own wristbands with contact details in case they wander off so that the parent or guardians can be easily contacted and reunited with them.
Tickets are only €59 for a day ticket and €99 for a weekend pass (with €1 per order if you need it posted). And that’s the total price – no hidden booking fees. Groove Festival has a capacity of under 5,000 per day, early ticket purchase is advisable!
