It’s been a long time coming but The X Factor’s Christopher Maloney has finally landed a record deal!
The singer, who caused quite the stir on last year’s show what with the rumours of him voting for himself and throwing tantrums, is said to be on his way to releasing an album.
Both Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur (obviously) landed deals last month.
Christopher is the last of the three finalists to put pen to paper for a deal but insisted that it was always in the pipeline.
“The final three get a record deal but we get told in different stages. There’s been a few offers made so my management are negotiating the best deal,” the former cruise ship performer explained.
He added: “I just want to get in the recording studio and make an album for my fans who are looking forward to hearing my music. It will probably be covers at first, but who knows.” No surprises there then!
A very nervous Christopher at his first X Factor audition.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Christopher also reflected on his time on the talent show: “X Factor’s always going to be a big part of my life. It was a fantastic experience but it was tough and towards the end I had a little bit of a breakdown.”
At the moment he is busy preparing for the programme’s live tour which kicks off next weekend. Fingers crossed there’ll be no tears this time.
