Biffy Clyro Set to Perform Free Gig in HMV Henry Street This Week

The band will appear instore at HMV on Wednesday

The newly reopened HMV on Henry Street is set to continue its series of instore gigs with a performance from Scottish band Biffy Clyro this Wednesday, 25th September.  The multi-platinum selling band will be signing copies of its most recent studio album, ‘Opposites’, in the store from 2.30pm.

HMV will be giving away 100 tickets to meet and greet Biffy Clyro on Wednesday afternoon through its Facebook page and Twitter account. The remainder of tickets for the meet and greet will be available at HMV Henry Street from 9am on Wednesday next on a first come first served basis. 

The KC Show on Today FM will broadcast its Wednesday show live from HMV on Henry Street between 12.00pm and 2.30pm, to a specially invited audience, with the broadcast set to include exclusive acoustic performances by Biffy Clyro. 

Biffy Clyro consist of singer/guitarist Simon Neil, Bass/vocals, James Johnston and drums/vocals, Ben Johnston and hail from Kilmarnock in Scotland

‘Opposites’, the band’s 6th studio album was released in January 2013 and entered the Irish charts @ no.3 on release in Ireland and contains the singles ‘Stingin’ Belle’, ‘Black Chandelier’, ‘Biblical’, ‘Opposite’ and their current single ‘Victory Over the Sun’.  In 2013 alone the band have sold out Dublin’s 02, topped the bill at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Derry and headlined the UK’s Reading and Leeds festival.  The band will shortly begin a USA tour with further dates in Europe before continuing onto Australia which will keep the band busy till January 2014.   ‘Opposites’ was voted Kerrang! Awards in June 2013.

Since returning to the Irish high street, HMV has already hosted exclusive performances by The Strypes, Cathy Davey, Jerry Fish and Hidden Highways in its Henry Street and Dundrum stores in Dublin, and Crescent SC in Limerick.
