It has been one year since Westlife went their separate ways and ladies hearts all over the world broke a little.
Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Nicky Byrne had been together since 1998 but the time had come for the foursome to embark on solo projects.
Nicky was a celebrity guest on Strictly Come Dancing in 2012.
Nicky Byrne has since tried his hand at radio, and is currently presenting the new RTÉ One television gameshow The Hit alongside Aidan Power. However the Dubliner who is expecting his third child with wife Georgina told The Sun newspaper that although he is solely focused and concentrating on his television performances there is solo music material on the way.
“I’ve been working on some stuff and the website is definitely somewhere I will be putting it in future,” he said.
“Since the band ended there has been a lot of family time. Now work is getting pretty busy so there’s that nice mix there.”
“I think we all enjoyed a bit of a break and are all trying to find our way in the world after Westlife,” he added.
Nicky launched his new website last week and said that it is a great way to keep in touch with all the old fans.
The 34-year-old plans to release the solo material via his new website nickybyrne.com which went live last Friday and has seen a surge of activity with thousands of hits totted up already.
“It’s great to keep in touch with all the Westlife fans around the world.”
“There’s lots of old footage and pictures there as well as all the new things that are happening.”
Fellow Westife member Shane Filan solo debut single ‘Everything To Me’ is due to be released August 25th, who knows maybe there is a duet on the way. We’re pretty sure the fans would enjoy that.
