It was another phenomenal year for music and it was most definitely celebrated at last night’s Billboard Music Awards, which took place in Las Vegas.
It was quite the night for Justin Timberlake as after a seven year hiatus from the music scene the ‘Mirrors‘ singer scooped seven awards including ‘Top Artist’, ‘Top Male Artist’ and ‘Top Billboard 200 Album’ for his phenomenal ‘The 20/20 Experience’.
“All the other finalists, Miley, Imagine Dragons, Bruno, Katy, I love you guys, it’s not a competition, but if it is, I won!” Timberlake said via satellite.
Jennifer Lopez dazzled in a sequence one-piece as she performed ‘First Love’ before being honoured with Billboard’s ‘Icon’ award.

Songstress Lorde collected two out of the 12 categories she was nominated in. The New Zealander accepted awards for ‘Top New Artist’ and ‘Top Rock Song’ and thanked fans for giving her the “opportunity to grow”.
“What I wanted to say was that I am 17 and a half now,” Lorde tells, at which point the teenager said, “that wasn’t a joke” after the crowd erupts in laugher.
She continued to explain that she has had “the opportunity to grow and learn as a new artist” in the last year “in the spotlight.”

Robin Thicke was on a winning streak for the global success of hit ‘Blurred Lines‘ and picked up four awards in total.
Thicke premiered his new single ‘Get Her Back‘, a song rumoured to be dedicated to his wife Paula Patton. The pair announced that they were parting ways in February. The track has some not-so-subtle lyrics and finishes with the line: “I gotta get her back tonight.”
Robin Thicke picked up four awards on the night.
