Switch On And Drive Off: Five Tunes For The Road

Create the ultimate car journey with our latest song choices

Her

If you’re going to be out and about on the road this weekend, you might like something to keep you company.

And we’ve got just the thing. In fact we’ve gathered five songs, with the help of our friends at MSL Ballsbridge, that will have you singing behind the wheel in no time.

Like I Can – Sam Smith

Released back at the start of December, this smash hit is still sitting high in the Irish charts. It’s a great driving tune – we defy you not to sing along to this as you’re heading down the road!

Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band – The Beatles

The title track on the Fab Four’s most famous album still sounds as good as it did all the back in 1967. This classic track is sure to get you bopping behind the wheel!

I Try – Macy Gray

Macy is playing a one-night only show at The Academy next week, so we’re guessing her biggest hit will be hitting the airwaves this weekend. Still sounds pretty sweet to us…

Mushaboom – Feist

We’re big fans of Feist here at Her Towers, and her chilled out vocals will get you feeling nice and relaxed for the weekend. You’ll probably be most familiar with this tune from 500 Days of Summer.

The Passenger – Iggy Pop

One of our favourite driving tunes, this 1977 classic hit has been covered by everyone from R.E.M to MC Lars. Listen out for David Bowie in the chorus!
