A US company has come under fire for selling high heels for babies, with accusations that they are trying to sexualise children.
Adverts for PeeWee Pumps feature babies wearing silk underwear and the $20 heels and encourage mothers to buy the shoes as “your daughter’s first fashion statement”.
The range features several different styles ranging from zebra to leopard print, including names like ‘Sassy’ and ‘Wild Child’.
The company has drawn ire from parents, who vented against the collection on Amazon and Twitter, saying that they are “ridiculous and sickening”.
This is so wrong on so many levels…just no with the sexualisation of babies! @Jem_Nicoll https://t.co/KRFjAio1TO

@tentspitch @PeeWeePumps yes, made me feel queasy. Revolting. Incredible ignorance of why/what heels were designed for in the 1st place.
