If you’ve been feeling the chill the last couple of days, you won’t be surprised to hear that the temperatures are set to plummet tonight.
It might be time to dig out the hot water bottles, with temperatures set to drop as low as -3C around parts of the country, brining dangerous conditions to road users.
Met Éireann has warned there will be widespread sharp to severe frost under clear skies, with risks of ice and patches of freezing fog:
Bright & sunny for the rest of the afternoon, but it will quickly become cold after dark with frost setting in early this evening.
— Met Éireann (@MetEireann) November 22, 2015
Road users are also warned that icy-stretches will form on untreated roads.
Unfortunately, the cold conditions will last into tomorrow morning, although Met Éireann do promise that the temperatures will rise during the morning (although this will be due to widespread rain…)
With temperature highs of just 8 to 10 degrees tomorrow, we’re pretty sure that’s our sign to pull out the hats and gloves.
