If you’re planning on a night out, or even a spot of shopping over the weekend, you might want to pull out the woollies.
It seems temperatures are set to drop from this afternoon, with showery weather expected to spread from the Atlantic – setting us up for a wintery weekend.
According to Met Eireann, some hail or sleet is likely to kick off from this afternoon, with a little wet snow on northern hills later today.
There will be a bite in the air too, with strong gusts of southwest winds seeing temperatures drop from a mild 11C to just 4 to 7C.
If you’re one of the few people abandoning the Toy Show, be warned that lower temperatures of just 1 to 5C is predicted tonight, with widespread rain.
Not exactly taxi rank weather…
Continuing into the weekend, Saturday will be windy and blustery, with top temperatures reaching 7 to 11C, but feeling a lot colder thanks to the strong gale force winds.
Just in case that wasn’t depressingly cold enough, Sunday morning could see a risk of some spot flooding – with wet, windy and blustery conditions forecast.
For those in Munster and south Leinster, prepare to be splashing in some puddles with persistent showers set to rain on your parade, while those on high ground are at risk of some sleet.
Lows of just 1 to 5C means with weather like that, we might just stay in bed for the next few days.
