Ladies, we think about sex more than we like to let on.
Over the course of one week psychologists at Ohio University carried out survey and recorded the behaviour of students aged 18-25, by using hand-held counters.
The 283 students were asked to record every time they thought about sex, food and sleep every day.
The study revealed that females now think about sex on an average of 18.6 times a day, which is every 51 minutes when allowing for 8 hours sleep.
The highest score recorded for a woman was 140 thoughts of sex in a day, which was once every seven minutes.
The new figures are said to be a result of the ’50 Shades of Grey’ effect the series of successful erotic novels, which have said to played a major role in the increased sales of sex toys last year.
The results also showed that women thought about food 15.3 times a day, once every 62 minutes, and sleep 13.4 times, every 72 minutes.
Men thought about sex on an average of once every 28 minutes, their stomachs every 38 minutes and sleep every 33 minutes.
