Before they even step foot on the plane women are said to spend hundreds of euros on their holiday preparations.
According to a new study, conducted by high street retailer Debenhams, women can spend up to €600 on beauty and hair treatments getting ready to jet off for the summer. To put this into perspective that’s the equivalent of a week long holiday in Spain.
From manicures and spray tans to hair removal and highlights, women spare no expense when it comes to beautifying themselves for the beach.
Never mind the money, this effort consumes a lot of time as well. Women can spend up to ten hours at their respective beauty and hair salons getting preened and pampered. In that time you could fly to France and back with a few hours to spare.
And some of the treatments have to be done weeks in advance of the holiday with others taking place the day before departure.
Karen Nash from Debenhams spoke about the findings. She said, ‘Looking good on holiday involves a lot more than finding that perfect bikini.’
While that may well be the case, spending the equivalent of two holidays on one trip is a hefty price for looking good don’t you think?
