Killaloe Pink Ribbon are currently running a silent auction for a Friendship Quilt which has been donated by the maker, Alison.
Alison lost her best friend to cancer in January and has started what she calls a series of friendship quilts. The lady in question is hoping to make up to 49 quilts.
However, Alison plans to donate the quilts to charity, namely Cancer Research and the Marymount Hospice in Cork. She has also donated one of the quilts to the Pink Ribbon Walk in Killaloe.
The quilt that she has donated is entitled “Labyrinth” and is made from cotton throughout, in beautiful pink and green. The quilt can take over 100 hours to make.
Alison calls her quilts friendship quilts not only because each quilt has fabric from her friends, but also when she is making the quilts she is stitching in memories of friends old and new.
If you head on over to the facebook page, you will find out more information about the quilt. More information in general on pinkribbonwalk.ie.
