Winter is coming and so is Game of Thrones themed wine so that season five has that extra kick.
The Wines of Westeros, a side project for Sydney-based advertising agency Common Ventures, have bottled their passion for the show.
All taste palates are catered for as the Arryn, Greyjoy, White Walker, Wilding and Stark bottles are Sauvignon Blancs, the Baratheon and Lannister clan bottles are Pinot Noirs, the Dothraki is a Merlot, the Tyrells are represented as a Chardonnay, the Martells as a Cabernet Sauvignon, and both House Targaryen and the Night’s Watch are Shiraz wines.
12 houses. 12 temptations. Where does your loyalty lie?
The website description reads: "The A mind needs wine as a sword needs a whetstone. Whether it’s a bottle from beyond the wall or a case from the cellars of the Iron Bank, keep your mind fit for the death of summer with the lion’s share of vino. Have a wench fetch a goblet, reject all wedding invitations and settle down for a long, harsh winter".
In an interview with
PSFK.com, Jane Burlop of Common Ventures that pairing of wines and houses were 'carefully considered'.
“The reds are all associated with the houses that are head strong and robust. The whites on the other hand are more cunning, perceptive and mysterious.”
The collection is available for pre-order at approximately AUS$20 €14 per bottle and is due out for internationally distribution in time for the new season.
