Maxol WIT Wildcats secured back-to-back wins in the Women’s Premier League over the weekend and bagged third place in the League as a result.
This is the first time in 18 months that the side secured two wins in a row, and a whopping 25 points from Helena Rohan on the day saw them overcome the Courtyard Liffey Celtics 76 points to 69.

Elsewhere, Pyrobel Killester showcased an improved offense with an 88-78 win over Portlaoise Panthers.
“We wanted to get off to a hot start,” said head coach Karl Kilbride.
“But Portlaoise brought in Claire Melia who had one of the best games I’ve ever seen from a 16-year-old. She did everything she wanted to do inside.”
Indeed, the young Ireland international was making her Premier League debut and finished with a fantastic 21 points.
Other results from the Women’s Premier League action over the weekend saw Meteors overcome UL Huskies 77-58 while DCU Mercy ran out winners over Singleton’s SuperValu Brunell by 68 to 61.

Meanwhile over in the Men’s Premier League, Templeogue survived a late comeback from GCD Swords Thunder to keep their unbeaten run intact.
Belfast Star got off the mark with an 82-71 road win at UL Eagles while DCU Saints remain bottom of the league after a 83-59 defeat at Pyrobel Killester.
