A man has written to SuperValu Ireland complimenting the efforts of a particular member of their staff who helped out his elderly neighbour.
John Denham wrote to the shop via Facebook about one of their employees and the extra mile, or should we say the few extra miles, he went to help out an 80-year-old widow.
He explained that his neighbour went to the SuperValu in the Orwell Shopping Centre in Dublin to get her groceries but then decided to have them delivered to her home as she was very tired.
When she arrived back to her house after getting the bus, she realised that she had lost her keys and neither of her neighbours who had a spare set were home at the time. The lady then had to sit under a tree in her garden to shelter from the rain.
A while later, a SuperValu employee arrived in his van. On seeing her, he helped her into the vehicle and took her somewhere nearby to get a warm cup of coffee.
He left her there but returned 40 minutes later with her keys, which had been found in the shop, and her groceries. He then drove her home and helped her into her house with the bags.
Mr Denham has asked the company to reward this worker for his “kindheartedness [sic].”
Now if that story doesn’t warm your heart and restore your faith in customer service, nothing will!
