Hannah Patterson became wheelchair bound five weeks before her wedding after she broke her pelvis in a car accident.

She said that she was determined not to let this ‘ruin her day’ so she got her fiancé Stuart to carry her up the aisle.

Hannah and Stuart are both from Northwen Ireland but are now living in Canada.

A video, posted by videographer Emily Suzanne Harris, shows Hannah getting ready for the wedding before arriving to the ceremony at Cranberry Creek Gardens in Delhi, Ontario. Her dad brought her half way up the aisle in her wheelchair before Stuart carried her the rest of the way.

According to the Belfast Telegraph Hannah said, “I was very upset and thought my day was going to be ruined. I suffered a lot of injuries and was in a lot of pain, but moving the wedding never crossed my mind.

“Our families were flying over for the wedding from Northern Ireland. Having the wedding gave me something to fight for.”

The photographer Sarah Grace said, “One of the most moving [ceremonies] I have ever photographed”.

“There wasn’t a dry eye there. I was honestly so moved by it – I was stunned and amazed by how in love they are.

“Stuart looked after her the whole day.”
