We all know that being in a relationship can be hard work and if claims by an adult website are anything to go by, maintaining a relationship in modern Ireland could become a little bit tougher. Why? Well apparently infidelity is on the rise.
According to IllictEncounters.com (a website which encourages married men and women to cheat on their partner) there has been a 200 per cent increase in the number of Irish people signing up to their, ahem, service.
The website maintains that the Republic of Ireland is the fastest growing area for sign-ups and has said that already they have almost 9,000 members from the Republic. Shocking, right?
But what’s even more shocking is the fact that of these 9,000 members, a whopping 5,139 are from Leinster alone. That’s almost double the amount of members found in Munster and Connacht.

“ROI is the fastest growing area we have and we have seen a 200 per cent increase on the rate of sign-ups there,” said a spokeswoman for the naughty website.
While IllicitEncounters.com doesn’t know the number of cheaters in each county yet, the UK-based website does have figures for each county located in Northern Ireland.
According to their statistics, Armagh is the county which has the most affairs. In Armagh a massive 3,021 people have signed up for the website, with 6.44 actively meeting up with people and cheating on their partners.
