“Well Holy God” Eleven Things We Learned From Glenroe

Earlier this week, Glenroe would have turned 30 if it was still on Irish screens. To be fair, we really wish it was. Over the years, we learned so much from the show which aired every Sunday night after the amazing Where in the World? Here are twelve things we learned from Glenroe.

1. A good intro is really important.

Everyone knows that theme music, let's be fair.

Especially if Teasy was involved. Lovely landlady.

3. Everyone needs a Barbour jacket in their lives.

4. And some wellingtons. You need wellingtons.

They were the days when you could just get black or green.

5. Everyone needs a Blackie Connors in their lives.

He could sort out absolutely anything.

6. Try not to have an affair in a small community.

People will find out eventually.

7. Check what is in baked goods at all times.

There might be something you don't wish to eat... They're not mushrooms, Mary. 

8. Every area has its chancer.

In this case, he goes by the name of Dick Moran.

9. There's always a rascal...

Whether it's Miley Cyrus or Miley Byrne, there's one everywhere.

 

10. There's no more fun you can have on a farm than a roll in the hay.
