Shop, No Drop
Don't get us wrong, we love the hustle and bustle of the city during the festive season, but there are times when all we want to do is put our feet up and take care of Christmas from the comfort of our own home. Luckily, we can now enjoy some of the best Irish businesses have to offer while we do so. Landmark Donegal store McElhinneys embraced the digital age last year with www.mcelhinneys.com, allowing shoppers from all over the country to enjoy their vast selection. Nominated as one of Irelands Top 5 Websites of the Year in their first year online, this is an online outlet to be reckoned with! On it you'll find women’s, men’s, kids, home, gift, beauty and gift cards - so there really is something for everyone
Winter Warmer
This week Her.ie received a lovely delivery of Spiced Apple Cider from Kopparberg, which can be heated up for a tasty Christmas treat. It reminds us of snowy nights and Christmas parties. Lovely.
Dingbats
Grace was introduced to her first ever Dingbat during the week, thanks to Una. Although she has seen these puzzles before, Grace never realised they had a title and thought 'dingbat' was an Australian slang term for an eejit.
Much to her delight, Grace cracked the code within seconds (120 seconds), thanks to a subtle clue from Una. The same could not be said for Sue and Rebecca, who remained puzzled for a few minutes/half an hour. Grace never misses an opportunity and decided to capture the moment to sheer confusion... Just look at those faces.
Una's subtle clue: "Don't think of it as a sheep."
Defying Gravity
Michelle was lucky enough to head along to the opening night of Wicked at the Bórd Gais Theatre this week. The story of the witches of Oz, before Dorothy dropped in, is told through one of the best stage musicals of this era. The cast were incredible, the story was engaging, and the music will stay in your head for weeks after you hear it. Fantastic.
Top of her Game
Rebecca cannot wait to see who this year’s Sportswoman of the Year is going to be. The winner will be announced on Friday December 20th and, with so many great athletes to choose from including joint October winners Aileen Reid and Aoife Clarke, it’s anybody’s guess!
Fit for a Princess
Slightly obsessed with Disney princesses, Cathy is also a huge Kate Middleton fan. So this image of the Duchess of Cambridge wearing a tiara for the first time since the royal wedding kind of made her week... not just any tiara either, this one is a diamond and pearl creation. SWOON.
With Relish
This week, Sue was really happy that Ballymaloe sent in a lovely delivery for Christmas. She basically won't eat most foods without Ballymaloe... Burgers, sausages. Just everything.
Exhilerating Gameplay
All tucked up and cosy in her onesie, Úna managed to finish "The Last of Us" on the PS3 this week. An emotional rollercoaster, the game was full of suspence topped with superb writing and brilliant voice acting. What to tackle next? Who knows!
TV Gold
Sue has begun watching Parks and Recreation this week and is basically kicking herself that she hasn't watched it before now. She is one of Amy Poehler's biggest fans.
