These are a few of our favourite things… this week at least.

The Big Easy
Liz was updating her make-up bag this week when she decided to invest in a new foundation. For anyone else who has the orange tidemark problem, this is one of Liz’s pet peeves. Her skin is milk bottle white so foundation can look heavy on a daily basis. She settled for the new bb cream The Big Easy from Benefit. It dries in a matt finish and gives enough coverage for a bad skin day without being as heavy as a winter foundation. Perfect coming into the (hopefully) warmer months ahead!
One scone to rule them all…
The hunt for Ireland’s greatest scone is now on! Goodall’s is appealing for the public to nominate their favourite scone. Last year, hundreds of nominations were received from people across Ireland who sent in the names of places where they had tasted their “best scone”. Brother Hubbard’s definitley getting Úna‘s vote (Their scones with orange blossom butter is amazing). More information here.
Girls Run The World
This week, Sue and Michelle finally completed their 10k race and were completely delighted with themselves. After 12 weeks of intense training it was great to finally see all the hard work pay off.
The Magician’s Daughter
Last week Grace caught up with Australian songstress, Mama Kin, ahead of the release of her album ‘The Magician’s Daughter’. On Tuesday Mama Kin played a headline show in Dublin’s famous musical haunt Whelan’s. Grounded, charming, extremely humble and absolutely hilarious, Mama Kin has left us wishing that we could be best friends. You can check out the interview in full here. Have a listen to track ‘Was It Worth It’ above.
Picnic?
Our pals at Brasserie le Pont sent us in an amazing picnic hamper with wine, cheese, pesto and the best bread in the world (seriously) this week. We made plans for a weekend picnic but there was mere crumbs left about ten minutes after this basket arrived.
Moss with the Most
Another week and another fashion collaboration Cathy is obsessed in, this time it’s Kate Moss for Topshop putting stars in her eyes. Metallics, beading, embroidery and print feature strongly and the model’s personal style influence can be seen throughout the line. Cathy picked up the crochet cami top but she’s now obsessing over the beaded flapper style dress… SWOON.
Aye, Aye Captain
Having missed it in the cinema, Rebecca finally got to see Captain Phillips starring Tom Hanks. She raved about the intensity of the film, especially the last scene, as well as the fact that it evokes debate as to the ambiguity surrounding the boundaries between right and wrong. In other words, she highly recommends it!
A Very Nice Neighbour
Sue, who is in love with Zac Efron, went along to the Bad Neighbours premiere and after party, thanks to Universal. As she is in love with Zac, she loved the film. Obviously.
Take a Seat…
This week Michelle has been zipping around in a SEAT Leon and the company may have a hard time prying the keys back out of her hands. This super sexy car took her to Clare and back last weekend and who knows where the roads will bring her over the Bank Holiday. Any excuse for a road trip when you’re driving like this…
Just a spoonful of sugar
Úna got a surprise this week when she was delivered in a lovely personalised spoon with her name on it! Courtesy of the Cutlery Commission and Robert Roberts, she’ll now use her spoon with pride of place in office!
