These are a few of our favourite things… this week at least.

Bookworms rejoice!
This week Michelle, Úna, Cathy, Sue and Rebecca took part in the very first Her.ie book club aka “Between the Covers”. This month they chatted about Joyce Maynard’s coming of age novel Labor Day and it was quite the discussion! A recommended read, they can’t wait to share the podcast with the Her.ie readers.
Find out more about the book club here.
Beauty Buzz
Rebecca was lucky enough to get a 45-minute makeover at The Bar courtesy of LA Creative this week. As well as getting her hair styled, she also got her nails and makeup done which meant she was ready to hit the town. In fact, she’s planning on making a few purchases so that she can recreate the look herself.
Skin School
Of course, she wasn’t the only one getting a little pampering! Grace and Michelle visited our friends at Thinkhouse for a school day with a difference – massages and manicures at a #VaselineSkinSchool!
Film Magic
Sue went along to see the new Jonathan Glazer film this week Under the Skin starring the brilliant Scarlett Johansson. The film really unnereved her and she thinks Johansson’s performance was iconic.
The lovely lads from TVVINS
This week Grace caught up with the lovely Conor Adams, one half of the group, TVVINS. Letting his coffee go cold, Conor chatted about the band’s recent success, songwriting and the lads upcoming gig in Whelan’s. We’re loving TVVINS’ debut single, ‘You Better’.
She’s in Fashion
Cathy has spent her week crushing at the London Fashion Week shows. From Temperley London to Topshop Unique there’s something for everyone. A particular highlight was the Mary Katrantzou show… just look at that embellishment. SWOON.
Take Another Little Pizza My Heart…
Our pals over at Hunter Communications made our day on Thursday with a delicious delivery from Toscana Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria. Suffice to say there was no talking in the office for the following ten minutes. We made short work of these delicious beauties – if you want to try them for yourself head to to their new branch in Dún Laoghaire.
Plume Appeal
Michelle payed a visit to the Kilkenny Store on Nassau street in the capital this week. After chats and incredible pastries in the restaurant, she headed downstairs for a browse and fell in love with new label Oui. There is an animal print shirt that will be in her wardrobe before this week is out, but before that she left with yet another addition to her ever-growing Alex & Ani collection, this fab Plume Feather Wrap.
A Viewing with The Queen
Marie went along to the premiere of Alan Gilsenan’s Eliza Lynch: Queen of Paraguay at the Jameson International Film Festival this week, which tells the story of a Cork-born beauty who is revered in Paraguay as a national heroine. The movie features a fantastic performance from Maria Doyle Kennedy and we would definitely recommend!
Chocaholics Anonymous
You may have noticed by now that the way to Team Her.ie’s heart is through food. So, Áine of Áine Handmade Chocolates is a new buddy for life after she sent us in this delicious haul. We’re still working our way through it.
