Wedding Cake, Wallace and Gromit and What Happens After a One-Night Stand: The Best of Tonight’s TV

You might be back to work today but that doesn't mean that it's all work and no play from here on in. In fact, tonight is the perfect night to put your feet up and enjoy a hot chocolate in front of the telly.

Rebecca McKnight

Two romantic comedies as well as a festive favourite, a style masterclass and lots of cakes. Now that does sound tempting!

Sleepless in Seattle – RTÉ One (2.50pm)

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan star in this romantic comedy about a widower whose son convinces him to tell his story on the radio. An engaged reporter responds to him but then returns to her fiancé despite bonding with the stranger. For some reason, we don’t think that’s the end of the story.

Rachel Allen’s Cake Diaries – RTÉ One (7.30pm)

Tonight Rachel bakes up a vanilla wedding cake as well as an orange and almond syrup dessert and a hazelnut cake. We know Christmas is over but that doesn’t mean we can’t dream about our next indulgence!

Wallace & Gromit – BBC One (7.30pm)

In case you missed the duo over the holidays, here is a repeat of A Matter of Loaf and Death in which Wallace and Gromit open up their own bakery. But not all is well as somebody is targeting bakers and they could be next.

Gok’s Style Secrets – Channel 4 (8.00pm)

Gok is back with his new series in which he takes a single woman each week and gets her back in the dating game. This includes a wardrobe makeover as well as a masterclass in flirting and a romantic date.

Knocked Up – ITV2 (10.00pm)

Alison finds out about the dangers of a one-night stand when she falls pregnant by Ben who isn’t exactly the man of her dreams. Still, the couple try to make a go of things for the sake of their unborn baby. Starring Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen.
