We know it’s not even December 1st yet, but we loved it.
Some others… not so much!
We seem to be having a very Christmassy-themed day today, what with Christmas jumpers getting people free trips on the Luas and Christmas tree dresses causing quite a stir in Terenure.
However, it seems like we’re not the only ones who are in the festive spirit as Phil Cawley brightened up most people’s day (and we do say most) when he wiped the dust off a Christmas classic and put it out live on Today FM this afternoon.
There’s nothing like being told that you’re handsome and pretty on a wet and windy Sunday afternoon!
Not everyone on Twitter agreed with us though and some even went so far as texting the man himself to let him know how angry they were at this blatant disregard for a “not before December 1st” rule.

First Fairytale of New York of the year. Good man @PhilCawley.

Now while we’re not sure who these were tuning into, we think it’s safe to say there’s not too many daring to dream of Christmas tunes on November 29th.
Fairytale of New York on the radio. Just a little bit too soon for my taste. — mcdermottgl (@mcdermgl) November 29, 2015
Just got all teary-eyed in the car when Fairytale of New York came on the radio for the first time this year. Soooooo yeah.
