For a 45 second ad, this is one of the most powerful pieces of film you’re going to see this week.
It’s one year today since Jonathan Corrie died in the doorway of a building on Molesworth Street – just metres away from Leinster House.
After living on the streets of Dublin for years, Corrie’s death sparked a national outrage that the most vulnerable people in our society could be left in the cold to die.
In the 12 months since the time has passed, more than 5,000 homeless people are sleeping rough on the streets of Dublin.
According to Focus Ireland, more than 1,500 children and their families will have no home to go to tonight.
A new video released by the homeless charity is a stark realisation that for most people on the streets, they spend 24 hours a day in a sea of people blind to their presence.
Help us make a DifferenceThere are 5,000 people homeless at any one time in Ireland. Focus Ireland are working every day to reduce this number. Tonight alone, over 1,500 children and their families will have nowhere to call home. Thank you so much to Dermot Malone from Banjoman Films and Emmet Murphy at Owens DDB for creating this beautiful video to help us spread the word.
