A 30-year-old mother was asked to leave the mosh pit area of a concert in America after officials feared that her baby might have been in danger.

Megan Christopherson was attending the country music event at Sleep Train Amphitheatre, San Diego, on Thursday and decided to bring along her four-month-old baby Gracie.

When officials confronted the woman to explain that she was endangering her baby by being in the pit area close to large speakers in a vast crowd, she became hostile and filmed the entire exchange.

Concert security reported the incident to Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD) and carried out all the necessary steps in order to ensure both mother and baby were safe.

In the clip below, you can hear the security officer saying: “Your child doesn’t have hearing protection on. The crowd is going to start surging forward. Where you’re at, your child could get crushed.

“We’re afraid of your child’s eardrums being hurt”.

Christopherson argued that Gracie, who was fast asleep at the time, was fine and explained that she had recently taken the child to another concert at the venue and experienced no problems with security.

The security official then offered to relocate Christopherson to a seated area free of charge but she chose to leave and receive a full refund on her concert ticket.

In an interview with NBC 7, Christopherson suggested that the problem with concert security arose after she began breastfeeding.

“It was completely a cop-out. They’re trying to cover this up because they know they legally can’t remove me for nursing,” she said.

“She was actually on video completely content, sleeping away.

“I trust my motherly instinct that if my baby’s ears hurt, she would cry, and then I would move. She was sleeping contently”.

In a statement released on Friday, the CVPD said: “The Chula Vista Police Department’s involvement in the incident was due to the welfare and safety of the infant and not due to a mother’s legal right to breastfeed in public”.
