He just had to go with it.
BBC reporter Thomas Kane was caught up in the craic outside the Aviva Stadium on Monday night as Ireland drove home to a 2-0 win (3-1 on aggregate) over Bosnia to qualify for Euro 2016.
Reporting on the news that both Ireland and Northern Ireland are now through to the tournament next summer, Kane was absolutely swamped by jubilant Irish fans and to be fair, handled it fierce well altogether.
The more he talked, the more fans showed up, until it was Olé Olé that was leading the news, not his report.
Mobbed!! @thomaskane1 battles to deliver his#IREvBOS #EURO2016 @BBCNewsNI report
