We all know that men are pretty good when it comes to concealing their true feelings. This is part of why break-ups hurt so much. You may find yourself weeping in public every time you see a happy couple together, meanwhile he’s laughing and joking around like nothing happened.
Does this mean that he’s over you? Well it could. But we’ve all been around long enough and experienced enough to know that when you part ways with someone, they take a while to get out of your system.
Here are the 10 tell-tale signs that your ex isn’t over you…
_____________
He makes excuses to ring/text you
1. He still calls you: While these conversations seem friendly enough to you, if he’s still calling you asking for small favours or with stupid excuses then it’s a sign that he’s still holding a torch. For example, he rings you to find out where you took your laptop that one time when it was broken rather than doing a Google search for computer shops.
2. He shows up at all your spots: That coffee shop you like? He just happens to be there. Your supermarket? He was driving by and needed some milk. That restaurant? He was in the neighbourhood.
3. His new girlfriend looks exactly like you: She has the same colour hair, same eyes and the same kind of personality that you have. Even your friends have remarked on the similarities.
4. He keeps in touch with your friends: If your friend announces that she has a new job on Twitter, he congratulates her. If it’s her birthday, he leaves a ‘happy birthday!’ style post on her Facebook page.
5. He asks about you: When one of your friends or a member of your family runs into him, rather than ignoring them he asks them how you are. He’s suspiciously interested in what you’re up to right now and if you’re seeing anybody.
He talks about your relationship every time he sees you
6. He brings up inside jokes: When he talks to you he constantly brings up some of the inside jokes you shared when you were together. He accidentally calls you by the pet name he had for you while you were dating.
7. He acts weird around you: Despite the fact that he was the one who wanted to remain friends, he acts really strange around you. He fidgets, he doesn’t look directly at you when you’re talking to him and he generally stumbles his way through a conversation with you.
8. He’s rude when you introduce him to a male friend: Even if you’re not seeing anybody, he automatically assumes that every man you hang out with is his replacement, so he goes out of his way to be an absolute ass.
9. He gives you subtle little signs: He accidentally signs off a text with a kiss, he posts the lyrics to ‘your’ song on his Facebook page, he holds on to you that little bit longer when you hug…
10. You just know: A woman’s intuition is a powerful thing. If you sense deep down that he’s not over you, chances are you’re completely right.
