Viva Las Vegas! Visit the City of Sin with American Holidays

Top tips from the travel experts

Rebecca McKnight

Las Vegas is a one-of-a-kind city and has to be experienced to fully comprehend how amazing it really is. From the splendor of the magnificent casinos and hotels to the natural wonder that is the Grand Canyon, Vegas has so much to offer that your first visit will probably not be your last.

Try your luck at the blackjack tables or check out one of the superstar’s shows, find out the role the Mafia played in the creation of the city with a visit to the Mob Museum or take a stroll and watch the famous Bellagio Fountains in action.

Aside from all the well-known attractions there are also plenty of lesser known ways to have fun in Vegas. There is the Dig This Experience which gives you the chance to drive bulldozers and diggers or see the sparkling city from a different view with a nighttime skydive.

‘Although Vegas is supposedly all about “gaming,” for many visitors it’s really all about shopping. Six Louis Vuitton stores within a few blocks of each other? Only in Vegas. The malls attached to the major casinos (e.g., the Forum Shops at Caesars) are a huge draw but so are the outlet malls, such as the Las Vegas Premium Outlets South (with 140 stores) and North (150 stores). If you don’t mind leaving the Strip, head for the Fashion Outlets Las Vegas in Primm, NV with over 100 stores (you’ll need a car to get there)’.Shona Byrne, Senior Travel Consultant

There is the Red Rock Canyon for the outdoor lovers or many top boxing events for the sports fan or if relaxation is what you’re after then why not chill out by the pool and soak up the sun.
