Viva Las Vegas – Five Things To Do in the City of Sin

Five amazing adventures to enjoy in the Nevada hotspot

Rebecca McKnight

When it comes to bright lights, big city – no one does it better than Vegas. The Nevada city and its infamous ‘strip’ are known around the world as one of the globe’s primary destinations for good food, great nightlife and of course… flirting with a flutter or two.

What you may not know, however, is that there’s so much more to do in Vegas than drink shots and lose a fortune or a friend (Hangover style). To leave without a little wager or two would be a sin in itself, but there’s no need to go to excess in the casinos when you have so many other fun options at your fingertips. Here are five of the finest.

See A Show

Some of the greatest legends in music history set up camp in Vegas for seasons on end, and it’s a tradition that’s still going strong. You could go to see one of your musical heroes, but out tip for the top ticket goes to Cirque du Soleil. Even if it doesn’t sound like your thing, open your mind and give it a try… prepare to have your breath taken away.

Life is a Rollercoaster

You’ll go on faster, higher, scarier rollercoasters in your lifetime, but you’re unlikely to go on another one that goes right through a hotel. This one does. The New York New York hotel is pretty impressive anyway, you get a taste of the Big Apple in Vegas, and the inhouse ride is the icing on the cake.

Pamper Perfect

Catering perhaps to the many groups of women who party all night, Vegas has become a serious contender in the ‘best spas in the world’ competition. The Bellagio is amongst the best, but there are countless options to choose from, so prepare to relax and revive yourself after a crazy night, then go and do it all over again…

The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

The ocean is probably not the first thing on your mind when you’re in the middle of the desert, but this is a Las Vegas attraction not to be missed. Housing more than 1,200 species of marine life, prepare to be mesmerized when you get up close and personal with five species of sharks.

Driving in the Desert

Leave the bright lights behind you for a day and head out to the sun-soaked desert for a driving experience unlike any other. You can book a day on a custom-built mini Baja dune buggy, and spend thrilling hours racing over the Nellis Dunes. An entirely different way to be a high-roller….
